🎬British Movietone - NO SOUND - Broadlands. MS Lord Mountbatten's 1924 Rolls Royce arrives driven by Lord Romsey, with Prince Charles, Lady Diana Spencer and Lady Romsey. MS They alight from car and Prince and lady Diana are welcomed. MS Prince cuts tape to open the Mountbatten Exhibition and then examines scissors to see if they are blunt. MS Royal party out of Exhibition. GV Crowd gathered in gardens. SEQUENCE: Lady Diana and then Prince Charles plant Atlantic Cedar trees. Various shots - Prince and Lady Diana meeting the crowd (Lady Diana is handed flowers and sweets by childre). CU Lady Diana holding a baby which she then hands back to his mother. PAN Prince and Lady Diana returnign to House. GV Broadlands. NB: The Prince and Lady Diana were visiting Broadlands, their first Official Public Engagement so that the Prince could open The Mountbatten Exhibition, a tribute to the late Lord and Lady Mountbatten. The Exhibition was created by Lord Romsey (Mountbatten's Grandson) and Lady Romsey (the former Penelope Eastwood).

🎬British Movietone - Heavy rain caused the streets of Cowes, Isle of Wight, to be flooded, but it did not deter yachtsmen like Prince Charles from braving the swells of the Solent.

🎬British Movietone - Southern Railway have converted Refreshment Cars into Snack Bars. Train pulls out of station. CU Refreshment Car on side of carriage. Interior - passenger at bar being served with whisky and sandwiches, also other passenger having drinks brought to them at their seats. Shots of people seated in carriage drinking.

🎬British Movietone - It's the Westland SRN2 again for the first public demonstration over the Solent. Mr Peter Lamb, Chief Test Pilot for Saunders Roe was at the controls, and it wasn't long before the latest "Hoverbus" was bidding up to 60 miles an hour. She can carry up to 66 passengers, and the verdict, a very comfortable ride, with no more than slight pitch and roll. A number of American Naval experts were on this trip. So was the hovercraft's designer.
