Bigger Bournemouth! (1931)

🎬British Pathé – The Mayor of Bournemouth cuts ribbon to inaugurate the extension of the town boundaries. Full title reads: "Hampshire. Bigger Bournemouth! Mayor and Corporation inaugurate extension of boundaries - nearly doubling size - of famous seaside resort." Bournemouth, Hampshire. The Mayor of Bournemouth and other local civic dignitaries walk along road in procession. They stop at a tape across the road which the Mayor, after making a speech (mute), cuts. They then proceed to walk into the newly extended part of Bournemouth. The Mayor, Percy May Bright, lays a ceremonial stone marking the extension of the boundary. The Mayor is welcomed to the new area.
